MEDICATION USED FOR 

Esomeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems ( such as acid reflux, ulcers ). Esomeprazole works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. Esomeprazole symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. Esomeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive Ellison syndrome. Esomeprazole is also used to promote healing of erosion esophagitis ( damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid).             MECHANISM OF ACTION

Esomeprazole work from the acid moving to lead to symptoms of heartburn a proton pump inhibitor such as Nexium goes into your body and blocks the pump inhibiting acid being pumped into the stomach. This lowers the amount of acid in the stomach and helps relieve symptoms of heartburn. Esomeprazole helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent cancer of the esophagus.
