Dapagliflozin and metformin tablets are used to treat type 2 diabetes and to reduce the risk of heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The tablets work together with diet and exercise to lower blood sugar levels: 

• Dapagliflozin: Works in the kidneys to prevent the absorption of glucose (blood sugar) 
• Metformin: Reduces the absorption of sugar from the stomach, reduces the release of stored sugar from the liver, and helps the body use sugar better.
